Nachbar stands out for its eclectic assortment of both bottled and draft beers. As Scott Weber mentioned, the selection is nothing short of impressive, with a range to satisfy any palate. Adding to the charm, a lively jukebox fills the air with tunes that beckon patrons to unwind. While some guests have suggested updates to the music selection, its presence is undoubtedly a welcoming feature for anyone seeking to enjoy a laid-back atmosphere. The knowledgeable and warm staff enhance the experience, ensuring that every visit is met with a smile and good conversation.
For dog lovers, this bar has a special appeal. With outdoor seating available, it's a perfect spot to enjoy a drink with your furry friends. Nick Welsh pointed out that you can bring your dog before midnight, making it a great venue for a casual outing. Just remember: well-trained dogs are a must, especially in a space filled with people and other pets.
Though Nachbar does not serve food, the freedom to bring your own or enjoy nearby takeout allows for a customizable experience. Anna T echoed this sentiment, highlighting the bar's charm and spaciousness, enhancing its status as a go-to dive bar. With a rotating selection of draft beers displayed prominently above the bar, the choices are aplenty—no squinting required!
Nachbar captures the essence of a neighborhood pub where community spirit thrives. Whether you're there for a game night or just to relax with friends, you’ll find a plethora of great drinks, fantastic live music, and a welcoming environment that feels like home. So, if you find yourself in Louisville, make it a point to stop by Nachbar for a night filled with cheer, camaraderie, and perhaps a round of your favorite craft beers.
“ Great neighborhood pub with a nice bottle and draft beer selection. The jukebox is not to bad but could be rotated a few times a year. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Bring your pup and sit at the bar or on the front or back patios. ”
“ Oh my god. What a jewel. The first TRUE neighborhood bar I've ever been to. Good drinks, and super-friendly customers and staff. Can't imagine next time I'll be in Louisville, but when I do, I'm definitely coming back. ”
“ The place is horrible, don't go. Huge issues with overcrowding from townies. Nothing to see here. No smiling. It was a great dog bar until some jerk reported them. Great (live) music (jukebox is prob best in town), wonderful staff/owners, and great selection. I've been going here since it began. When I'm in town it's the first place I go, the only place I drink, and the only thing that ever makes me feel homesick. Everywhere I've ever lived I've searched for a replacement. Everywhere has fallen short. ”
“ Nachbar is a great spot for delicious beer and crafty cocktails. No food, but they'll allow you to have outside food, so long as you are a paying customer. You can bring your dog before midnight, but please only do so if he/she is already trained and good in environments with drunk people and strange dogs. The outdoor seating is also great! ”
“ I was only in Louisville for a weekend but I could see this being one of my favorite bars if I lived nearby. I love dive bars, which from outside appearances you should too if you even want to step inside. There are plenty of little charming quirks for you to take in on first visit, and ample space (both inside and out) and beer options to keep you wanting to come back. FYI - The draft beers are all listed above you, across from the bar, so instead of squinting behind the bartender just turn around ”
“ This is a great bar for hanging out. As I get older, I have trouble hearing in some crowded, noisy bars, but Nachbar is a place where I can actually carry on a conversation. They have a good beer selection. It's unpretentious. In a neighborhood that can be congested with loudmouths, this is a pleasant respite. ”
“ Had the best time... the jukebox is legendary, had the best selection. Played cards and drank bourbon. Such a rad place and memorable experience. ”
“ Nachbar is my neighborhood bar. I live down street and whenever I walk by there is either laughter, music, or lively conversation coming out of the back patio area. During the week right after work the back patio area is kind of like a little dog park. It's a great place to hang out, unwind, and have a beer or two with friends. I've also seen some great bands perform here and I've never had to pay a cover. The drinks can range from cheap to expensive with an eclectic draft selection. Also, please don't take drinks out of the bar and leave them in the neighborhood lawns on your way home. ”
